Maria Isabel Nobre has a degree from the Faculty of Arts of Lisbon.

Her professional career is linked to Teaching and School Management.

On a daily basis, photography is her shelter. It is a complement to what she sees and lives.

She participated in several competitions, individual and collective exhibitions and has some images awarded with honorable mentions and others published in the catalogs of the Center for Iberian Studies, cultural agendas and in the largest Photo Album in the World integrated in the project “Portugal, The Best Destination”.

Her “Photographs with Soul” collection was the basis of the “Pillows with History” Project, which resembles a journey under the watchful eye of a lens. A journey reported in a present time in search of a culture, a heritage and the corners with history of our beautiful Algarve.

The Pillows with History was born from a set of images by the author about the built heritage of the Algarve.

Transporting this heritage from paper to fabric, Pillows with History appears as an innovative concept that highlights the culture and identity of the Algarve soul.

A street, a detail of a door that time has worn, a plateau or a chimney are the themes that make up the design of the pillows with history. All themes contain a story, an affective value that each one of us will discover as we feel.

Currently "Pillows with History" is a Portuguese brand that already has other textile items such as bags, purses and aprons. Some made with digitally printed fabric, others mixed with cork skin. Pillows with History became a concept of decoration or a look at the heritage in a different support.
